6-speed transmission
With the 6th overdrive gear, the gear slots are closer together, optimizing performance and ensuring precise engine rpm and torque control. It is fitted with a double shock-absorbing flywheel, which helps greatly to keep engine noise under control and increases the maneuverability of the gearbox.
Available as standard with the 2.5 V6 24 V 156 and 156 Sportwagon as well as the 3.2 V6 24 V engines in the 156 GTA, 156 GTA Sportwagon, Spider and GTV.
